plus, it's got pockets!

Check it ouuuuttt.

The shiny stuff is so annoying to sew on, let me tell you. First of all, Blizzard artists, the little strips are so skinny that I am struggling to even pin the darn things, and then it's so fragile and frays all the time. I have tiny blue and silver confetti scraps all over my table now. But I managed to cover all of my oopsies from when I was sewing the top of the leather with the belt thing that I made into pockets!

Dude. Pockets.

Every single time I've cosplayed (not many times) I've regretted not having pockets. No one wants a picture of Sailor Mercury randomly holding an army green messenger bag. So, voila! They're not super deep, but they're wide and can hold my phone, a camera, and some money without looking too bulky.

Thankfully, I have the rest of the day off today, so I can start with some more shiny stuff. I really hope to be done with the sewing part soon so that I can move on to more enjoyable things, like attaching the feathers, or finishing my pauldrons.

Haha, that's totally what my friends and I did when we cosplayed the three goddesses from Legend of Zelda, and the costumes turned out great.

I'm actually using a machine for most of my sewing, which gets tricky with the giant skirt in the way. I do have several reference pictures from WoW model viewer and just things that I've drawn, but as far as cutting and sewing pieces, I just kind of wing it.

I got incredibly frustrated trying to find places to put my purse whenever people wanted a picture of me at a con I went to last year. Pockets were a must. -nod-

You could always try to make a bag! I'm sure there are plenty of tutorials. That sounds like a fun project!

Thankfully I don't need any jewelry, since I have no skill in making it and no luck in finding appropriate pieces. But I am going to be wearing 10" long ears and a wig. I'm still debating making a staff or not - on one had it would look awesome, on the other it would take so much work! /lazy
