I actually did this last night, but here's a picture now! Two days away.

I'm going to be updating this pretty often now that it's down to the month of.

I might post a picture of myself in the getup by the end of today, but then again I might not. If I can attach the thigh guards to the onesie without a sewing machine, I will be a happy girl.

Ugggh it's April already. I have less than a month to finish this. I'm honestly doubting that I can do it.

I can't believe it's already March. Ugh.

I worked on my helm today, and I'm not sure I like how it turned out, but I think I can make it work.

plus helm

At least it's starting to come together! I can't wait until I finish the pauldrons, they will tie the whole thing together and make the collar stop looking so silly.

Hey guys! So you all (hopefully, at this point) know that I cosplay, and I'm pretty into it. So into it, in fact, that I try to get everyone I know into it as well. Well, this duo on Kickstarter definitely shares that goal. Their segments on cosplayers are very positive and beautiful, in a way. They show cosplay for what it really is - a passion, an art form, a community. Every single cosplayer they talk to shares the wonder of becoming someone new, both in and out of costume.

Being a fangirl myself, I love seeing what other people can do. If you can, help support Cosplay Boom in their quest to share the stories of fans like you and me.

Here is their Kickstarter and here is their Youtube page, where you can watch some of the segments, including an interview with Yaya Han, who is the sweetest person.

p.s. it looks loads better with the pauldrons, but the pauldrons themselves look awful. So no preview yet.
Happy Galentine's Day everyone!

cone of shame

Cone of shame! I decided to go with the loading screen breastplate and a modified version of this derpy looking collar. I've also got the pattern for the bikini, the leg plates, and the boots. Just the bracers to go! Then a bunch of Worbla, paper mache, gesso, and paint. And then I'll be done! That's it! (/dead)

Yeah. It's a lot. But I think it's doable before April.

I booked a room for M2X but I'm not sure if I'm going yet. Doesn't really make sense, but I wanted to make sure I got a cheaper room just in case I do go. Now I've just got to decide before ticket prices rise. Any opinions on going to a con in its first year? I'm worried because they've only just now started to get information out, and as far as I know not even vendors, artists, or panelists have signed up. Just a few guests. I'm nervous about it, but I also feel like it could be awesome. Help!

pauldrons wip

So that's coming along. Now I just have to do the block cutting on the other one and the shaping. Haven't quite figured out what I'm going to do about the detailing on her pauldrons, as it's quite intricate, but I'll figure something out. Forgot my heat gun at home (again) so I'll have to wait a bit for doing any Worbla.

Finished the rough carving, and may actually stop there and do the rest with paper mache.
